Description The Seattle Times is seeking a transformative Yield Manager with proven digital media experience to be responsible for helping shape and optimize digital advertising revenue strategies for The Seattle Times Company, encompassing both direct and programmatic channels. The central mission of this role involves analyzing complex data sets, creating progressive advertising strategies, and activating appropriate revenue channels for optimal revenue attainment. The Yield Manager is also responsible for owning the setup and ongoing refinement of advertising targeted audience segments within our Data Management Platform (DMP).

Main Responsibilities:
•Maximize yield of advertising inventory across all Seattle Times digital properties.
•Schedule and optimize programmatic ad stack and open auction inventory.
•Manages day to day communication with Private Market Place partners.
•Troubleshoot delivery and reporting discrepancies across partnerships.
•Report on and review yield management metrics across all sales channels in terms of performance, ROI, and fulfillment.
•Assist with forecasting of market patterns and revenue projections.
•Responsible for developing, producing and reviewing weekly, monthly reporting KPIs.
•Assist with vetting new SSPs and header bidders.
•Develop relationships to ensure we are maximizing partnerships with each SSP and ensure they are socializing our inventory with DSPs, networks and clients.
•Identify emerging technologies and drive development efforts
•Develop strategies and partnerships for overall site monetization and across all sales channels with a focus on realizing the highest eCPM for our network of sites.

Requirements Minimum Requirements:
• At least 5 years of digital advertising experience with a clear track record of implementing and generating advertising monetization strategies.
• Thorough understanding and proven application of yield management practices, specifically: rate card pricing, bundling, discounting, and real time economic trade offs.
• Proficient in complex data manipulation, organization, and analysis.
• Experience working within a Data Management Platform environment (Lotame preferred), creating superior audience segments, and delivering sales value propositions and pricing.
• Superior cross collaboration skills working with Product, Ad Operations, IT, Web Development, Design, and Marketing.
• Exceptional communication skills including routine presentations/interactions with C-level executives.
• Advanced user skills in Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Visio.
• Working knowledge of advertising technologies and applications (DFP, Yieldex, Rubicon Project, OpenX, Ad Exchange, Ads Native, et al.)
• Undergraduate degree in business, economics, engineering, mathematics, or related discipline.

Preferred Qualifications:
• MBA or applied science graduate degree.
• Database/data mining experience using relational database management systems such as Oracle, SQL, or MYSQL.
