We are excited to announce a new post-sales Account Manager for our newly developed team! This key role is responsible for optimization, post-sales execution, and client service for our Managed clients. The Account Manager will serve as a project manager for onboarding new clients, continuously evaluate performance, make strategic recommendations, and dictate associated changes to appropriate campaign specialists to ensure we are meeting client expectations and goals.

Compensation is a combination of base salary and commission based on the retention and growth of the Account Manager’s assigned client list.

This position is vitally essential in the retention and growth of revenue in our managed service categories of business including Search, Social, Programmatic Advertising, Website services, Direct Mail, and any corresponding Seattle Times advertising. It requires a meticulous, detailed nature, and ability to work diplomatically and effectively with a wide range of players including the client, Sales, Operations and more.

 

The Account Manager will:

  • Ensure client expectations are met and exceeded through meticulous and seamless client service, thoughtful reporting, and strategic optimizations and recommendations.
  • Serve as a partner to and liaison between Sales & Operations teams, ensuring client needs are understood, communication is strong and frequent, and all campaign elements are deployed accurately, and performing to client expectations.
  • Manage all campaign elements for their assigned accounts, including digital managed service, Seattle Times products, direct mail, etc. as applicable.
  • Onboard new clients, including collecting all deliverables through a client onboarding call, understanding goals and objectives, discussing messaging and creative, determining attribution and setting proper client expectations.
  • Collaborate with Sales Managers to ensure AEs are suggesting appropriate strategies and setting realistic expectations with clients.
  • Compile campaign analytics from Campaign Specialists and "tell a story" through metrics to explain value. Provide to AE or to client directly, attending reporting /retention sales calls by request.
  • Have in-depth knowledge of technology that powers and supports advertising, including DFP, Lotame, various Demand Side Platforms, Facebook Ads Manager, Google Ad Words, Google Analytics, Tactician mapping software, and more.
Requirements
  • College degree preferred (or equivalent in experience)
  • Experience: 2+ years of Account Management, and/or Digital Sales, with emphasis in Campaign Management, Product Specialist, Advertising Analyst, Sales, Marketing, or Advertising.
  • Desired Qualifications or skills: Excellent analytical and communication skills (both written and verbal) and ability to present information clearly and concisely. Proven customer relationship success, proven time-management and decision-making skills. Working knowledge of marketing strategies in The Seattle Times’ suite of products including newspaper, programmatic display, native advertising, SEM, social, etc. Sales and/or leadership experience a plus.
