Description The Seattle Times is looking for an experienced Search Engine Marketing Specialist (SEM Specialist) who understands and enjoys building and optimizing campaigns to meet client objectives. Has good working knowledge of network display advertising, audience targeting, big data and how all the different digital marketing tactics work together to move customers through the consumer journey.

Duties:

•Day to day management of paid search campaigns, bid strategies, spend and optimization efforts across various search engines to ensure accomplishment of performance goals in alignment with stated objectives.

•Ongoing account optimization: structure improvements, targeting improvements (geo, demographic, day-parting, keyword and URL), search query mining, keyword expansion, advanced use of negative keywords, copy and landing page testing, etc.

•Collaborate with internal teams to develop and test new strategies.

•Conduct competitive analysis, prepare reports on findings, and share the results to keep the team informed on performance, optimization, and overall results.

•Monitor daily, monthly and quarterly spend and performance levels for multiple clients.

•Occasional client facing meetings to discuss tactics and results.
Requirements Minimum Qualifications:

•2+ years working with search marketing.
•Google Adwords certified.
•Bachelor’s degree preferred.
•Solid quantitative/analytical skills with strong attention to detail.
•Proven experience optimizing paid search to defined performance metrics.
•Google AdWords and Bing Certifications required.
•Experience in using bid management tools.
•Experience using DoubleClick and working with .HTML5 tags.
•Knowledge of SEM conversion tracking and tagging.
•Microsoft Excel skills are a must and you’ll have the ability to work with large data sets.
•Excellent troubleshooting and problem solving capabilities.
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
•Multitasker. Ability to manage multiple accounts, priorities and targets in multiple languages
