The Seattle Times is excited to announce a recent opening for a Customer Sales (Product Specialist) in our Sales department! This role, which reports to the Classified Manager of Sales, address calls in our “Legals” category, and provides vital support to the team for ad scheduling, account support and coordination, and much more. As a Customer Sales professional, successful applicants should be eager to work with a diversity of clients, ranging from private party accounts to commercial accounts.

Please note: this role is a union-affiliated position, and is mandated to pay union dues per the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Responsibilities

  • Answer inbound ACD (automated call distribution) calls, specifically for the Legals department.
  • Schedule ads using the ad order entry system.
  • Provide back-up for overflow calls and vacation coverage, including Funerals, Merchandise/Other, and Recruitment.
  • Contact law firms and municipal courts to promote relevant products and services.
  • Perform other duties, as assigned.
Requirements
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal), with proven customer service skills.
  • Strong organization and time-management skills.
  • Typing ability with minimum of 50 words-per-minute, net.
  • Accurate, detail-oriented, and able to work autonomously.
