We are excited to annouce that we are actively seeking a dynamic, success-driven Inside Sales Representative! The Inside Sales Representative leverages services to existing and prospective accounts by telephone, and actively promotes all available products in order to meet advertisers' needs and budget. This Guild-affiliated (union) position works to identify needs for new and existing customer accounts, and proactively develop solutions to service those needs. Successful applicants will possess a breadth of sales skills when seeking out client needs, an energy and passion for developing business, and utilizing resources to help promote all available print and digital products. 

 

Responsibilities (to include but not limited to):

• Continuously sell and service existing/prospective accounts by telephone and email.

• Work to create vibrant new sales proposals which include a wide array of print and digital options.

• Creatively find new ways to develop and use available resources to assist customer with copy and layout needs.

• Maintain a committed, organized schedule to input ads into AdPerks (our order entry system).

• Strategically solicit from outside sources, other newspapers, competing media, etc. to expand our outreach and business.

• Interact effectively with other departments: Credit, Customer Accounting, Page Planning, Ad Fulfillment, and Production.

• Assist other Classified Inside Sales Representatives when necessary.

• Provide back-up for inbound call overflow when necessary.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• 2+ years' experience in sales or marketing as a Sales Associates/Consultant, Account Manager, Account Executive, Business Development Manager, etc., preferably with a media company,  

• Attendance: must be present and ready to work between 8 AM and 5 PM daily (for phone coverage). 

• Comfortable with B2B sales, including cold-calling, "warm" introductions, and strategic marketing practices. 

• Salesforce CRM experience preferred.

• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and customer service skills.

• Ability to ask questions and understand advertisers’ business and marketing goals.

• Ability to translate marketing goals into a newspaper advertising campaign.

• Ability to use sales skills to persuade advertiser to commit to the campaign.

• Knowledge of marketing and competitive media.

• Type a minimum of 50 WPM net.
