Description

The Advertising Target Marketing Coordinator is primarily responsible for coordinating the distribution of Daily, Sunday and Non-subscriber preprint advertising, custom printing products and in-house promotional pieces. This includes working directly with Advertising Account Executives, Packaging and Assembly, Transportation, Home Delivery, Production, Rotary Offset and outside vendors. Also facilitating the successful planning, development and production of Seattle Times’ Advertising Special Sections.

 

The Advertising Target Marketing Coordinator must be someone who can deftly and diplomatically manage multiple projects, triaging needs of multiple internal and external clients. This individual must generate creative solutions on their own and also work through issues with Sales, Design, Sales Operations, Marketing, and Production & Operations. Successful applicants will have depth and breadth of knowledge in account advertising and distribution operations, have a high degree of client service expertise, and be able to influence others.

 

Major Functions

Coordinate the distribution of Daily, Sunday and Non-subscriber preprint advertising, custom printing products and in-house promotional pieces with Advertising Account Executives, Packaging and Assembly, Transportation, Home Delivery, Production, Rotary Offset and outside vendors:

  • Coordinate activities related to planning, development and production of advertising special sections, working with sales and support teams (marketing, ad publications, creative, operations, and others) to ensure clarity of understanding about project objectives, details of execution, and post-publication assessment.
  • Work collaboratively with multiple departments to guarantee smooth production workflow while maintaining a high level of service to our internal and external clients. 
  • Administrates account upkeep with project leads/stakeholders to pro-actively provide information about project status.
  • Coordinate with multiple internal groups, partners, vendors and clients.
  • Support effective management of special sections’ success through development and use of standardized processes to ensure the highest quality experience for advertisers and internal stakeholders.
  • Be the primary facilitator for the successful planning, development and production of Seattle Times Advertising Special Sections (and some news); can effectively negotiate schedules.
  • Continually manage and improve the partnership with internal and external customers to cultivate long-term relationships.
Requirements

Qualifications

  • Be the front line support for answering Target Marketing/Preprint Fulfillment
  • Technical Skills:  Highly skilled in Word, Excel and Sharepoint; experience with PowerPoint, Visio and a workflow management system/application.
  • Program & Project Management
  • Confidence while working with internal departments and outside venders.
  • Basic understanding of production and creative processes.
  • Editing/proofing/ad composition skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks effectively; Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Minimal physical effort needed, but occasional lifting of up to 25 lbs of preprints is required.
  • Minimum Accounts Receivable/Payable understanding

 

Education and Experience

  • 4-year degree, either BA or BS preferred.
  • Must have at minimum two years’ experience in fast-paced, competitive and high pressured environment and have been accountable for meeting deadlines and ensuring service and quality expectations were met.
  • At least 5 years of program/project management experience
  • Advertising, Circulation or production/printing background; experience in multiple areas a plus.
