The Business Director (BD) has the responsibility to successfully lead all areas of the daily operations of The Salvation Army Ray & Joan Kroc Corps Community Center (RJKCCC) Business Department, including but not limited to: Facilities, Food & Beverage Service, Corporate Compliance, Legal & Contracts, Events, Information Technology, Kroc Keiki Learning Center and other duties as assigned. The BD will also serve as the chief liaison with Divisional Headquarters regarding all Finance and Accounting services for the RJKCCC, assuring collaborative support is provided to RJKCCC managers and directors.

The BD will coordinate the aforementioned activities throughout the Kroc Center in an efficient and consistent manner. In the absence of the Administrator, Center Director and Assistant Center Director, the BD has full and direct responsibility for any and all venues of the RJKCCC operations and programs as assigned by the Administrator and Center Director. The BD advises and makes recommendations to the Administrator and Center Director regarding overall departmental and organizational goals, objectives, programs, procedures, and policies. The purpose of the BD position is to give oversight to the day-to-day general business, food & beverage and physical plant activities throughout the RJKCCC in an efficient and consistent manner. The BD will have a deep commitment to the mission of The Salvation Army, which will be evident in his or her professional life and the manner in which he or she represents The Salvation Army Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center in the community.

1. Bachelor of Arts or Sciences degree in Business, Accounting or related field.
2. Must have 5 to 10 years of extensive supervisory experience, preferably in a Business, Program, or Corps setting.
3. Proven success as a Business Director, Executive Director, or General Manager for a large organization. Experience in coaching/motivating groups and have proven leadership skills.
4. More than 5 years of experience working with in a complex church, business or non-profit that has multiple programs.
5. Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting and audits, evaluating, presenting, and reporting financial information to executive teams and external stakeholders.
6. Minimum 5 years of experience in business development, planning and management.
7. Minimum of 5 years prior experience supervising and managing a multiple task professional staff.
8. Have the ability to develop and administer facility and department budgets.
9. Ability to effectively understand, reflect and communicate the Christian principles, mission, goals, and strengths of The Salvation Army and The Salvation Army Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center.
10. Maintain a professional attitude and approach to problem solving.
11. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
12. Strong motivational, management and leadership skills.

• B.A. Business Administration

1. The Business Director (BD) is responsible for directing all aspects of the RJKCCC Business Department and will support any initiative or project assigned by the Center Director.
2. The BD will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Business Department, including but not limited to: Facilities, Food & Beverage Service, Corporate Compliance, Legal & Contracts, Events, Information Technology, Kroc Keiki Learning Center, and other duties as assigned. The BD will also serve as the chief liaison with the HIPAC DHQ for all finance and accounting services, and with the THQ Kroc Department in any related business matters.
3. The BD will give direct supervision to the Facilities Manager, Kitchen Manager, Senior Manager of Sales & Events and the Kroc Keiki Learning Center Director.
4. Oversees the preparation and implementation of the Business Department goals and the overall budget of the RJKCCC. The BD will prepare and submit monthly reports outlining progress towards these goals.
5. Direct activities in the Business Department, to optimize operational efficiencies under the direction of the Administrator and Center Director.

a. Develop and implement budgets with the RJKCCC Administrator, the Director Team and individual managers.
b. Lead in the development of fiscally sound programs.
c. Oversee staff scheduling to ensure appropriate levels.
d. Ensure the implementation of facility safety, Protecting the Mission (Child and Vulnerable Adult Safety), and maintenance policies.
e. Assist the Administrator and Center Director to ensure compliance with The Salvation Army mission, policies and procedures, and the RJKCCC mission to optimize financial, membership services, program, ministry and service performance.

6. Assist and train Kroc Center Managers to successfully manage their departments’ daily financial and business operations; e.g. Vivid reports, budget forecasting and reviews, asset inventories, proformas and business plans, etc.
7. Attend regularly scheduled meetings at RJKCCC and initiate meetings with appropriate staff, for the purpose of sharing and gathering appropriate information to ensure the fulfillment of RJKCCC's overall Pro Forma and Business Plan.
8. The BD is responsible for all legal, insurance and property matters related to the safe and sound operation of RJKCCC in coordination with the Administrator and Center Director. The BD will serve as the liaison with DHQ and THQ on all pertinent matters.
9. Meet regularly with the RJKCCC Administrator and Senior Leadership Team to make recommendations for repairs, remodeling, and replacement of facilities and equipment.
10. Meet regularly with the RJKCCC Administrator and Senior Leadership Team to coordinate business operation and program issues with sound fiscal and budgetary requirements.
11. Assist the RJKCCC Administrator and Senior Leadership Team with the facilitating and communication of financial statements, grant proposals, service and activity statistics as required by Salvation Army reporting procedures.
12. Assist the RJKCCC Administrator and Senior Leadership Team with all matters relating to Finance, including budgets, requisitions, proposals for purchase, property proposals and other matters needing approval of the Command Finance Council (CFC). Be available to give responses about expenditures and other fiscal-related matters concerning the business aspects of the RJKCCC.
13. Work in a cooperative manner with the other RJKCCC managers, discussing any problems or concerns that may be occurring within the facilities in which their programs operate.
14. Help direct reports in addressing customer issues and ensure effective and long-term resolution and satisfaction.
15. Lead direct reports in maintaining their inventory of equipment and supplies and submit purchasing requisitions as needed to meet operational needs following budgetary guidelines and procedures for procurement.
16. Oversee and manage the Kroc Capital Replacement Reserve (CRR) program and ensure that all projects are completed in a timely fashion and within budget.
17. Serve as the primary Kroc liaison with the THQ I.T. Department in all matters related to kiosks, software, security systems, internet and cable vendors and contractors, the procurement and maintenance of all I.T. equipment and all other I.T. related issues.
18. Provide general supervision and support to the Kroc Keiki Learning Center (preschool), presenting KKLC recommendations and issues to the Kroc Leadership Team. Assure that the KKLC is in compliance with all state licensing and NAEYC accreditation requirements.
19. In conjunction with the Community Relations Manager, be responsible for accurate grant management as it relates to compliance and reporting of government, corporate and foundation grants
20. The BD must have keen analytic, organization and problem-solving skills, which allows for strategic data interpretation vs. simple reporting.
21. The BD must have strong interpersonal and communication skills and possess experience in effectively communicating key data, including presentations to senior management, Advisory Council and DHQ.
22. The BD will ensure RJKCCC has efficient systems and procedures in place to support effective program and business implementation.
23. Assure that all rental agreements and event contracts are processed promptly and that appropriate deposits are monitored. Any RJKCCC space that is rented must be checked prior to and after rental in accordance with established policies and procedures.
24. Maintain clear channels of communication with the Administrator, other directors, support staff and necessary personnel and program participants. This will include the writing of internal memos, email, schedules, flyers, newsletters and one-on-one discussions.
25. Respond professionally to requests and inquiries from guests, members and staff, and collaborate well with managers, directors, support staff and DHQ. Must have strong interpersonal, communication and leadership skills, and able to generate, maintain and demonstrate a friendly and enthusiastic positive attitude.
26. The BD may lead and assist with special Kroc Center projects, which may include seasonal community and fundraising activities of The Salvation Army during Christmas such as Red Kettle Campaign, Angel Tree, etc. and other duties as assigned.
27. Follow and ensure adherence to The Salvation Army Policies and Procedures.
28. Maintain the Kroc Center Hawaii Code of Ethics.
29. Perform other assignments/duties as directed.

The position requires sitting; climbing and/or balancing; stooping, kneeling, bending, stretching, crouching and/or crawling; standing; walking; manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination; use of vision; driving a vehicle; pushing/pulling/lifting/carrying 25-50 pounds and occasionally
more than 50 pounds; traveling by airplane. This employee may also be required to work weekends and evenings.

Equipment used includes general office equipment such as computers, photocopiers, scanners, printers, fax machines, telephone (office, cell, PDA), microphones, audio-visual equipment, 10-key calculator, and automobile.

Most work will be indoors at the RJKCCC in Ewa Beach. Attendance at trainings and conferences, both in Hawaii and on the mainland, may be required. Extensive travel is possible, including air travel, driving long distances, night driving, overnight travel, and extended travel of three days or more.
