POSITION SUMMARY
Perform pick-ups of donated food for Fresh Rescue Program and deliveries as necessary. Clean and maintain the Corps building

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Cleaning duties include but not limited to dusting, sweeping, mopping cleaning windows, vacuuming, emptying trash and cleaning restrooms.
• Emptying Trash cans outside and keeping parking lot free of garbage and debris
• Work cooperatively with staff members to address their custodian/driving needs.
• Identify and propose maintenance projects necessary for property upkeep; handle small projects such as light painting, minor plumbing issues, and miscellaneous repairs, in-house as time and skills permit.
• Secure all windows and doors daily upon exiting the building if no other staff are present to do so.
• Advise Corps Officers of necessary purchases such as cleaning supplies etc.
• Assist with food pantry as directed by Corps Officers, including but not limited to : filling shelves, counting donation, organizing shelves. And performing custodial duties.
• Pick up daily donation in accordance with established, approves store and Salvation Army policies; use of a TSA vehicle will be limited to donation pickup, maintenance jobs, and pick up of goods.
• Use protective equipment when using cleaning supplies or spaying chemicals; follow appropriate safety policies and procedures, attend staff meeting as required.
• Keep complete, up-to date driving and maintenance records for all vehicles
• Must maintain a valid CA driver’s license Must successfully complete Decision Driving Safety Test before driving Salvation Army vehicles
• Must meet certification by and participation in The Salvation Army’s Fleet Safety Program. (Salvation Army Fleet Safety Policy dictates that an employee may not obtain more than two moving violation or accidents within any 12-month period) see The Salvation Army Safety Fleet Policy
• Perform all other duties as assigned

Requirements WORKING CONDITIONS
Ability to walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel and twist on an intermittent or sometimes continuous basis. Ability to be able to lift to 10lbs. Ability to grasp, push, pull objects such as files, file cabinets drawers and reach overhead. Ability to operate computer, fax and telephone.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• Minimum high school graduate or equivalent
Must read write and communicate in English;
bilingual English/Spanish helpful.
• Willing to work a flexible schedule if necessary
• Working knowledge of custodial and light maintenance equipment
• Demonstrate sense of cleanliness

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, & ABILITIES
• Ability to follow written and verbal commands and maintain close communication with Corps Officer
• High degree of initiative:
• Ability to work with children and vulnerable adults while maintain appropriate boundaries
• Ability to communicate effectively and interact with co-workers, management, leadership, and public in a positive and productive manner
