POSITION: Administrative Assistant
SUPERVISOR: Kroc Administrators and/or Center Director
STATUS: Non-Exempt/Full-time (40 hours per week)


OVERVIEW:
The Administrative Assistant provides clerical support to the Kroc Administrator, the Operations Manager and all other staff as assigned. The Administrative Assistant will also serve as the Kroc Center receptionist on the second floor administration wing.
Requirements QUALIFICATIONS:
• Possess at least two years of experience in secretarial and/or administrative assistant experience.
• High school graduate required.
• Must possess intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office, which includes Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Publisher.
• Must have command of the English language and possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Familiar with and able to look up and use Christian Church terminology and scriptures.
• Have or obtain within ten (10) days of employment, a valid California Driver’s license as this position requires driving at times.
• Ability to listen and follow-through on instructions and work well under pressure and deadlines.
• Able to create and maintain multiple filing systems.
• Maintain highest level of integrity and confidentiality in all areas of personnel, programs, and operations.
• Possess basic math skills required.
• Experience working with non-profits; ability to work with diverse communities are essential.
• Be cordial, friendly, and professional in carrying out all job responsibilities.
• Be extremely organized and neat.
• Ability to prioritize work and multi-task simultaneous projects for various departmental programs and directors.
• Able to type 55 wpm (determine by testing).
• Must be goal-oriented and self-motivated. Must possess initiative and be a self-starter.
• Able to function in a fast-paced, frequently changing (and often times, loud) environment effectively with little or no supervision.
• Able to locate resources needed for various programs independently.
• Ability to interact professionally in all contact with the public and Salvation Army Officers and staff. Must possess good Guest Relations skills.
• Abide by Salvation Army Policies and Procedures and have an acceptance of Salvation Army philosophy and mission.
• Must be able to lift and carry 40 pounds (usually file boxes).
• Have a philosophy of education and child development which is consistent with that of the Center and The Salvation Army.
