JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for assisting with all benefit administration. Collaborate with HR team and provide overall support of HR duties, collaboration with payroll, benefits maintenance, time and attendance systems, and reporting.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
3 years of Benefits Administration required or related experience
Knowledge of all areas of benefit administration, including but not limited to retirement, health, and welfare
Experience in FMLA, HMLA, HIPPA, and other federal and state HR regulations
Experience in Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and HRMS/HRIS systems (UltiPro)
Attention to detail in composing, typing and proofing materials
Must possess strong communication skills
Works well under pressure
Interact with others with courtesy and tact
Manage and prioritize multiple projects in an organized and efficient manner
Respond to situations in a calm and effective manner
Ability to prioritize and complete projects on schedule
Maintain confidentiality

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Administer all health and benefit insurances. Coordinate annual medical renewal process and coordinate open enrollment processes.
• Ensures the accuracy of all benefit enrollments
• Perform quality checks of benefits-related data
• Collaborate with DHQ HR/Finance staff to correct any payroll discrepancies
• Bill Reconciliation -provides necessary reports for allocation/billing charges.
• Assist with Open Enrollment process
• Manage mandated reporting as required by Affordable Care Act (ACA)
• Distributes all benefits enrollment materials and determines eligibility
• Enrolls employees with carriers and process life status changes.
• Enter benefit deductions into UltiPro for new hires, open enrollment changes and qualifying events.
• Prepare Flex Spending, Aflac, 403b, and additional life insurance for payroll data entry
• Conduct New Employee Benefit Orientation
• Develop and maintain good working relationship with benefit vendors.
• Provide guidance on claims resolution and provide benefit information to employees.
• Responds to benefits inquiries from managers and employees on plan provisions, benefits enrollments, status changes and other general inquiries
• Responsible for administration and maintenance of Training Logs- OTIS, Sexual Harassment, Trustwave
• Performs other duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The position requires sitting; climbing and/or balancing; stooping, kneeling, bending, stretching, crouching and/or crawling; standing; walking; manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination; use of vision; driving a vehicle; pushing/pulling/lifting/carrying 25-50 pounds and occasionally more than 50 pounds; traveling by airplane.

COMMUNICATION DEMANDS:
The position requires talking to co-workers, clients, vendors; requires written communication to and from co-workers, clients, vendor; talking on the telephones; requires responding to written or verbal requests of co-workers, clients, and vendors; requires training/giving verbal and written instructions; requires receiving verbal and written instructions; requires writing/composing written language; requires reading; requires visiting/working at other worksites; requires communication via the latest technologies

SKILLS/TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE:
• Valid Hawaii driver’s license
• Travel off-island as necessary

EQUIPMENT NEEDS:
Use office equipment such as computers, photocopiers, scanners, calculators, etc. Familiar with Microsoft Office Suite (i.e. Word and Excel), HRMS.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Most work will be indoors at Divisional Headquarters. Attendance at trainings in Hawaii
