POSTION SUMMARY

The Case Worker reports directly to the Corps Officer and assists with both Corps and Access Center tasks. Will be responsible for working with Access Center Program Manager, clients and other staff as needed. The Case Worker must also provide appropriate services to clients, giving information about Corps programs and community activities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Support Corps office and Access Center as needed.
• Intake and support users of Social Service and Access Center programs.
• Answering phones and completing office tasks.
• Develop and maintain a resource file for Caseworker programs.
• Prepare and complete all assigned records and reports in an accurate and timely manner.
• Keeping up-to-date on changes in agencies procedures and regulations.
• Develop and maintain a working relationship with public and private Social Service Agencies.
• Able to support all local and community events, seasonal activities (Harvest, Thanksgiving, Kettles program, Seasonal assistance, food and toy distribution)
• Compiles and submits required statistical forms for Social and Access Center services.
• Attend Volunteer Staff Meetings and any Corps related meetings
• Attend and Salvation Army conferences that meet Social Service requirements.
• Take any Salvation Army training helpful to your position.
• In consideration of Salvation Army Mission, strategically liaison with community agencies – both private and public – for the benefit of client services, community participation, networking and collaboration.
Requirements WORKING CONDITIONS

1. Must be able to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel and twist on an intermittent or sometimes continuous basis. Must be able to grasp, push, pull objects such as files, file cabinet drawers, and reach overhead. Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

1. Position requires a High School Diploma or GED or work experience of a minimum of 5 years in related field.
2. Bi-lingual (fluent in Spanish and English)
3. Position requires an active understanding of Microsoft Windows programs.
4. Ability to work effectively with everyone in a nondiscriminatory manner, including program participants who may display a wide range of unusual behaviors.
5. Must be proficient in Internet Explorer and Social Media platforms.

SKILLS,KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES

1. Knowledge of basic office procedures and
operations.
2. Must be willing to undergo a Criminal background check and MVR (if applicable)
3. Good communication skills required and ability to work cooperatively with others.
4. Must be adaptable to changing situations and able to pay close attention to detail.
5. Must be totally trustworthy and responsible regarding office equipment and supplies.
6. Comfortable working with children.
7. Must have California Class C Driver’s License and be willing to drive as needed.
