Position Summary

The Client Aide will spend most of their time working creating, planning, organizing and implementing programming activities, events and outings for clients under the Booth Senior Bridge Home. The Client Aid will provide general assistance of resident’s condition to the Case Manager/Program Coordinator.

Essential Functions

1. Assist Case Managers in completing documentation (intakes, discharges, reporting) as needed.
2. Answer and direct incoming calls to the appropriate individuals in a courteous and professional manner.
3. Designs and arranges recurring events such as monthly calendars, newsletters, and themed house events.
4. Assist with housekeeping duties as needed (kitchen, common areas, room turnovers, house laundry).
5. Plans organizes and implements social and recreational activity programs designated to affect improvement in clients physical, mental and social well-being.
6. Develop special events, guest speakers, movie showings, exercise sessions, the establishment of clubs, games, art and creativity opportunities, educational classes and other such activities.
7. Provide interesting, creative and rewarding social atmosphere throughout the Community and promoting resident participation through regularly scheduled high-quality activities and/or excursions.
8. Designs, develops and conducts activities program provided on a daily basis and modifies existing programs as necessary.
9. Develop and facilitate life skills and education classes for residents on a weekly basis and as needed.
10. Responsible for resident participation in groups/activities.
11. Responsible for educating and introducing clients to community enrichment activities.
12. Appropriately document the residents’ activities and program participation.
13. Develops and maintains a positive relationship with residents, staff and management.
14. Explain rules and procedures to clients ensuring client’s adherence to program policies and procedures.
15. Ensure that resident’s rooms are neat and clean, hallways are free of obstructions and other safety hazards.
16. Complete all daily logs, gather all needed signatures and give complete end-of-shift reports to the oncoming shift and to the Case Manager/Program Coordinator as needed.
17. Monitor client’s medication as needed.
18. Follow all program rules and TSA policies and procedures.
19. Perform other duties as assigned by your immediate supervisor and/or management personnel.

Requirements Minimum Qualifications

1. High School Diploma or GED Required. A.A. preferred.
2. The ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
3. Must possess a valid Class C California Driver’s License.
4. Flexible availability
5. Background check required.
6. Attainment of at least 18 years of age.

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities

1. Must be culturally sensitive and non-judgmental
2. Knowledge and sensitivity regarding issues of homelessness, mental health and chronic illness
3. Ability to obtain annual TB test and complete other required Salvation Army trainings (decision driving, PTM, etc.)
4. Basic information of blood borne infection and universal precautions including the use of protective devices.
5. CPR/First Aid Certification.

Working Conditions
Ability to walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel and twist on an intermittent or sometimes continuous basis. Ability to grasp, push, pull objects such as files, file cabinet drawers, and reach overhead. Ability to operate computer, fax and telephone. Ability to lift at least 25 lbs.
