POSITION: Harbor House - Residence Operations Assistant
SUPERVISOR: Harbor House Program - Residence Operations Manager
DEPARTMENT: Harbor House Family Emergency Shelter Program
STATUS: Full Time / Non=Exempt (40 hrs. / wk.) (24 hrs. / wk.)

Overview: The Harbor House Program - Residence Operations Assistant works under the supervision of the Harbor House Program - Residence Operations Manager and Harbor House Program Director. The Residence Operations Monitor is responsible support the administrative, operations, safety and security of the Harbor House Family Emergency Shelter Program.

Duties:
1. Assist in maintaining a safe and secure Harbor House Family Emergency Shelter by assisting in all security, safety and Resident related matters.
2. Assist the Harbor House Program – Residence Operations Manager, Harbor House Program Director, Executive Director(s) in administration, program or Resident related duties.
3. Assist the Harbor House Program – Residence Operations Manager, Harbor House Program Director, Executive Director(s) in supervision of the Harbor House – Residence Operations Monitors.
4. Driving assignments as assigned.
5. Inform, document and report all incidents and direct to the Harbor House Program – Residence Operations Manager, Harbor House Program Director and/or Executive Director(s).
6. Oversee and submit weekly statistical reports.
7. Assist in the overseeing and supervision of emergency disaster preparedness, supervision of drills and actual emergencies at the Harbor House Family Emergency Shelter Program. Duties to include but not limited to safety of all personnel, participants and assigned facilities.
8. Respond to all emergencies, and notify the Residence Operation staff, Harbor House Program Director, Executive Director(s) and proper staff and/or agencies (Police & Fire Department).
9. Responsible for fire control system, safety and security of all Residents.
10. Responsible for the operation and implementation of all rules and policies
11. Support searches in all parts of the Harbor House Family Emergency Shelter for alcohol, illegal drugs and paraphilia, and other unacceptable contraband.
12. Other duties as assigned by the Harbor House Program Director and/or Executive Director(s).

Requirements Qualifications:
1. Experience in operations of a Family Shelter Program and/or Residential Treatment/Substance Abuse Program.
2. Familiarity of the context of The Salvation Army’s Mission providing support as needed or directed within the scope of program objectives.
3. First Aid and CPR certified.
4. Knowledge of Windows and Microsoft Office needed.
5. Must be able to relate to a variety of persons from wide selection of demographics.
6. Strong organizational skills.
7. Valid CA Driver License.

Physical Requirements:
1. Ability to a lift up to 25 lbs. (usually file boxes).
2. Ability to grasp, push, pull objects such as files, file cabinet drawers, and reach overhead.
3. Ability to operate telephone.
4. Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or sometimes continuous basis
5. Annual TB test clearance verification.
6. Annual wellness check clearance.
