POSITION: Food Pantry Assistant
SUPERVISOR: Food Pantry Coordinator
DEPARTMENT: Family Services
STATUS: Non-exempt; Full Time (40 hours/week)

OVERVIEW: The Family Services Food Pantry Assistant is responsible with assisting the Food Pantry Coordinator for the overall condition and operation of the Family Services Food Pantry inside and out.

SUPERVISOR: The Family Services Food Pantry Assistant will report to the Food Pantry Coordinator. This position will need to cooperate with the supervisors and directors of the other programs.
Requirements DUTIES:
1. Assist with loading and unloading of truck.
2. Organize, set up, maintain and clean Food Pantry, Bread Room, storage containers inside and outside refrigerator and freezer units to ensure safety of these areas and equipment.
3. Prepare and assist with the daily distribution of food boxes.

QUALIFICATIONS
• High school graduate preferred
• Fork Lift Certified preferred or must have the ability to get certified upon being hired.
• Properly use hand-trucks or pallet jack for all heavy items
• Self -motivated with the ability to see what needs to be done and to follow through until all work is satisfactorily completed. Follow through on assigned tasks with minimal supervision. Ability to work with other staff members and volunteers a must
• Ability to remain calm in stressful situations Ability to multi-task and set priorities
• Must have good communication and organizational skills. Must be a team-player
• Valid California driver’s license a plus.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
