Today, Replacement Parts, Inc./ Crow Burlingame is made up of a corporate staff and several different companies that employ over 1,300 employees, in seven (7) states, working at approximately 180 locations, all operating in the aftermarket automotive parts, paint and heavy duty parts business. In 2019, our company will celebrate 100 years as a privately held business with most of our employees spending the majority of their working lives as part of the "Bumper to Bumper" family.

The Counterperson provides over-the-counter direct sales to customers, takes orders in-person and by phone, and supports the overall success of store operations through promotion of sales programs and other customer and team-related activities. Sales activities focus on aftermarket automotive replacement parts, and may include the sale of heavy-duty parts, auto and industrial paint, and body shop supplies and equipment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS • Attend work every day, on time, as scheduled, unless management authorizes time-off. • Demonstrate courteous, respectful, and kind conduct toward every employee and customer. • Cooperate and coordinate well with coworkers and as a team member. • Perform job duties in compliance with legal, regulatory, and Company safety guidelines, practices and policies. • Maintain neat, clean, and professional appearance. • Provide exceptional customer service including assisting in determining parts needed, offering options to solve customer problems, and diffusing situations involving an upset or dissatisfied customer. • Research part’s availability through computer and catalogs for stock numbers, inventory status, and pricing. • Locate and pull parts for orders, check in, put up, straighten, dust, and rearrange stock as needed. • Handle cash and credit transactions; properly invoice/credit customer accounts. • Prioritize the order of delivery items and assign deliveries to drivers, if applicable. • Correctly handle new and defective core returns from customers, insure proper customer credit and complete necessary paperwork. • Open and/or close store if given key holder responsibility. • Work home store inventory/assist in other location’s inventory, if assigned. • Clean (pick-up trash, sweep, mop, etc.) and maintain inside and outside of building area. • Perform any other task as requested or assigned by immediate supervisor, his/her designee, or other management/supervisory employee.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Education: High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) Experience: 1 year of parts experience Computer Skills: Working knowledge and skills in Windows-based operating systems Certificates & Licenses: BTB certified or able to quickly attain the certification ASE certification highly desired

Other Requirements: Current and valid driver’s license* and clear driving record *Class E license required in the State of Missouri

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Operate a delivery vehicle, frequently enter and exit the vehicle. Operate a manual transmission vehicle, if applicable. Retrieve, stock, carry and move merchandise repetitively. Operate brake lathe and hydraulic hose, for ex. Calculate mark ups and discounts; transcribe numbers up to twelve digits. Read at or above high school level. Mix and pour paint products, open and seal containers with exposure to paint fumes. Operate paint mixing machine, if applicable. Exposure to shop and store elements such as noise, dust, fumes and odors.
