Description This position will perform a variety of processing and accounting for sales and purchases associated with oil marketing, generation of accounting entries using accepted GAAP, perform account reconciliations and financial analysis, and perform special duties as required. The ability to manipulate and analyze large amounts of detailed data is also a critical skills set. The successful candidate will have strong organizational and analytical skills and also be able to effectively communicate with a wide variety of people. This individual will be based in Denver and will report to the Marketing Accounting Manager. Salary will reflect market rates based on the QEP Resources’ Compensation Plan.

The successful candidate will have exceptional financial, systems and analytical skills and also have strong communication and persuasion skills. Experience in the oil and gas industry is preferred.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Work with oil purchasers and production department to resolve Accounts Receivable differences
• Extract Accounts Receivable reports from accounting systems and analyze customer accounts.
• Assist in preparing credit applications and credit analysis
• Prepare voucher entries
• Reconcile General Ledger accounts.
• Perform the monthly accounting for Clear Creek Storage company.
• Run the Clear Creek Storage revenue system to disburse funds to royalty owners.
• Prepare ONRR reports and payments
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Education:
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.

Experience/Skills:
• 3+ years experience in the oil and gas exploration and production (upstream) industry preferred.
• Proven change agent who can educate business customers on the importance of strong financial management practices and provide value to operating groups.
• Strong project management skills combined with effective, communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
• Solid analytical and problem solving skills including problem identification, analysis, action planning and execution.
• Effective organizational and time management skills, including the ability to multi task, work in an independent manner and seek assistance as needed.
• Proven ability to evaluate processes and develop recommendations for process improvements.
• Demonstrated oral and written communication skills are required.
• Ability to work in teams, cross functionally and cross geographically effectively and efficiently coupled with the ability to lead/drive these teams.
• Flexible, positive, energetic service-oriented team player.
