Description
Reporting to the Manager of Network and Voice Communications, the Field IT Infrastructure Business Partner is responsible for working with the specified business units to align technology solutions with business strategies. The specific area of focus for this role is communications technology and/or IT Infrastructure projects related to Field Services, SCADA, Safety, Drilling, Completions, and Facilities.
This role will work closely with management to ensure IT Infrastructure is supported, developed and implemented according to agreed upon standards and that change management, and project management structures are adhered to throughout the lifecycle. The position requires an understanding of field processes and operations.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Serves as a liaison and single point of contact between employees located in the field from various business units including Field Services, SCADA, Safety, Drilling, Completions, and Facilities and IT Infrastructure groups.
• Possesses expertise in the business unit(s) they support, as well as an understanding of the IT organization’s systems and capabilities.
• Analyzes business unit’s operations to understand their strengths and weaknesses to determine opportunities to automate processes and functions.
• Executes the IT project management processes and methodologies to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and with a high quality to meet customer expectations.
• Assembles project schedules and teamwork assignments, directing and monitoring work efforts on a daily basis, identifying resource needs, performing quality review; and escalating functional, quality, timeline issues appropriately.
• Tracks key project milestones and adjusting project schedules and/or resources to meet the needs of customers.
• Develops and communicates the project budget. Approves all project related expenditures as authorized and manages costs to meet budget commitments.
• Assists in the business process redesign and documentation as needed for new technology.
• Translates high level business requirements into functional specifications for the IT organization and manages changes to such specifications.
• Educates the IT organization on the direction of the business.
• Negotiates agreements and commitments by facilitating communication between business unit(s), IT, construction and other vendors as required to complete project tasks.
Requirements
• Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or other related field or equivalent experience.
• 7 + years of IT work experience, including 3 or more years managing projects. Experience with projects in multiple technologies and functions.
• Oil & Gas experience is strongly preferred.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Strong tactical, leadership, and people management skills.
• Ability to apply a mature and diplomatic approach to task prioritization and conflict resolution.
• Proven experience managing multiple, concurrent IT projects/programs.
• Organizational, written, verbal and presentation skills.
• Proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project, SharePoint.
• Must possess knowledge and expertise in the use of project management methodologies and tools, resource management practices and change management techniques.
• Self-motivated and decisive. Ability to interact, direct & influence cross-functional teams that span the organization.
• The ability to quickly adapt to change in priorities.
