Description
Performs warehousing operations, including the requisitioning, receiving, storage, and distribution of equipment and materials.
Maintains warehouse account and data, including posting timely, in proper system, and attaching supporting documentation to transactions; receipts, issuances and transfers.
Conducts physical inventory audits of warehouse accounts, reconciles with accounting systems and prepares material transfers for movement or disposal.
Requests material, equipment and supplies through field requisitions and transfers to meet asset requirements.
Acts quickly to requisition parts and make decisions in a just in time warehouse environment.
In critical situations, delivers parts to project locations.
Assists field personnel in creating material list for projects to aid in planning and efficiency.
Identifies and anticipates materials needed for upcoming and ongoing work.
Assists superintendents/foremen in tracking material costs and billing on all projects.
Provides analysis on part consumption and consumption of facilities and overall asset. Codes and tracks expenses on asset and/or facilities.
Develops proficiency in accounting and procurement coding as well as related process and software programs (including Excel, Spendmap, SAP and ADP).
Maintains tracking, and coordinates work performed by contracted area shops for repairs/exchange of re-manufactured parts.
Assists in coordinating division investment recovery functions for surplus materials and pipe.
Identifies and locates suitable surplus for reuse within the company.
Other duties as required or assigned.
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Knowledge of material control systems and generally accepted practices, policies, and procedures relative to procurement, investment recovery, and warehousing.
Proficiency with computer programs including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
Strong organization skills; must be able to maintain a warehousing system.
Ability to work as part of a team, maintain professional relationship with internal and external customers, and work under deadlines.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted.
Must have a valid driver license and acceptable driving record.
Must be able to operate a forklift (certification will be provided)
