You will be responsible for negotiating contracts, developing supplier relationships and overall product development that best enables The Mark Travel Corporation to gain competitive advantage.   As the main liaison for The Mark Travel Corporation and our hotel suppliers, you will be the company's expert on products, culture, competition and relationships in assigned markets. A successful Supplier Engagement Manager will:

  • Create an integrated supplier strategy and work with Strategic Business Units (SBU’s) to attain the goals
  • Develop and cultivate relationships with suppliers and tourism organizations with day-to-day engagement and in-market presence for Southwest Vacations, Mark International, United Vacations, Funway Holidays, and Funjet Vacations
  • Lead, manage and hold others accountable
  • Analyze destination performance, understand market demands, destination and industry trends, and create strategies to adapt to a dynamic marketplace
  • Negotiate supplier contracts, net rates and promotions
  • Identify and communicate new opportunities and funding for La Macchia Enterprises (Supplier Strategy and Investment team, all brands, and Global Booking Solutions)
  • Analyze product to ensure competitive product mix
  • Ensure all products offered meet TMTC standards (content, service, quality, competitive)
  • Align and communicate to leader, team and TMTC brands on strategy, opportunities and maximizing revenue in market
  • Understand and maximize dynamic distribution channels
  • Utilize and embrace LME’s core values, concepts and tools
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree (BA) from four-year college or university and two or more years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, project management, and coordination of people and resources.
  • Personable interaction and ability to create and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and team members.
  • Knowledge of principles and methods for promoting products and services, including marketing strategy and tactics.
  • Using knowledge and data to create win-win solutions that benefit all parties, showcase value of opportunities and persuade others to engage
  • The ability to travel by air, car and train for approximately 20% of your work schedule to include international travel, travel to corporate headquarters and trade shows.
  • Travel industry experience and/or training  is strongly preferred
  • Effective negotiation/selling skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to proactively engage with internal and external contributors to deliver desired results
  • Strong initiative and time management skills
