Organization Profile

The primary mission of the LCEF is to provide financial resources and related services for ministry, witness, and outreach of The Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod.  In so doing it shall raise funds primarily through the issuance of corporate notes and other debt instruments.  Its assets shall be used exclusively for the following:  To provide financing and services for the acquisition of sites; the construction of facilities; the purchase of buildings and equipment; operating expenses; professional church worker education; the residential housing needs of professional church workers; and other purposes approved by its governing board consistent with the ministry and mission of the Synod under policies approved by the Board of Directors of the Synod.

Reporting Relationships

  • Reports to the Manager – Support Operations.
  • Works closely with Investment and IRA Processing Supervisors, Processors and Specialists.
  • Works closely with Loan Processing and Operations Departments.

Essential Job Functions

  • Receives and organizes confidential financial documents by type of transaction.
  • Inspects documents for required data (date, account number, initials of processor and reviewer, etc.).
  • Works independently to resolve exceptions; escalates issues in a timely manner.
  • Scans large volumes of transactions into imaging system and assigns appropriate indexes, codes and labels to the imaged documents.
  • Verifies images are legible and indexed appropriately.
  • Coordinates return of original documents to source department for final review. 
  • Manages destruction of original documents upon completion of final review.
  • Participates in semi-annual review and update of policies and procedures related to core responsibilities. 
  • Assists as needed with opening and sorting incoming mail.
  • Provides fulfillment support with outgoing mail processes. Inserts appropriate disclosure brochures, fee schedules and other required notifications based on type of investment.
  • Assumes mailroom responsibilities in the absence of the mailroom coordinator.
  • Acts as primary backup support for Receptionist.
  • Completes other duties and projects, as assigned.

Education and Experience

  • Minimum high school graduate.
  • Prior experience in a financial institution or related field desired.
