Organization Profile

LCEF provides financial resources and related services for ministry, witness and outreach of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod. In so doing it shall raise funds primarily through the issuance of corporate notes and other debit instruments. Its assets shall be used exclusively for the following: To provide financing and services for the acquisition of sites; the construction of facilities; the purchase of buildings and equipment; operating expenses; rostered church worker education; the residential housing needs of professional church workers; promoting strategic planning and assisting in capital campaigns: and other purposes approved by its governing board consistent with the ministry and mission of the Synod under policies approved by the Board of Directors of the Synod. To provide financing for its own operations and for distribution of operating results to its member Districts, congregations, and corporate Synod, as determined by its governing board.


Reporting Relationships

  • Reports to Manager, Ministry Support
  • Works closely with Vice President, Ministry Support in assigned region
  • Works closely with Ministry Support Coordinators in other two regions
  • Works with representatives involved with VisionPath, Capital Funding Services, Laborers For Christ, Architectural Advisory Committee, District Vice Presidents, and CEF Executives in assigned region


Essential Job Functions

Within your assigned region:

  • Partners with the Vice President, Ministry Support.
  • Evaluates workload and set priorities.
  • Continually learn about all areas of MS in order to provide a quality service to all customers.
  • Work proactively to identify and pursue opportunities to nurture the relationship with all MS representatives.
  • Creates reports as requested.
  • Reviews expense reports and alerts Vice President, Ministry Support of any issues.
  • Tracks and reports budget activity.
  • Schedules, plans, and handles all details related to training meetings/gatherings requested by Vice President, Ministry Support.
  • Enters Lead information into LINK and SIMS (includes LFC SIMS) and track milestone dates for all MS areas.
  • Enters Project information into SIMS for all MS areas.
  • Update master boards on the wall as appropriate.
  • Customize all agreements for all MS areas.
  • Manage all campaigns and VisionPath experiences using Basecamp, email, and phone calls.
  • Customize program materials/report templates and coordinate production of materials related to all Ministry Support services to congregations and agencies ensuring materials are accurate and deadlines are met.
  • Order “print-on-demand” materials using a local vendor.
  • Notify LCEF Media Communications of new programs/campaigns to add to or remove from the LCEF website, as well as changes in consultant’s bios and new project sign-up lists. Submit story ideas with pictures as needed. Review website content regularly to ensure content is accurate and conveying the correct message.
  • Create documents, write letters, and produce mailings to customers and/or consultants as needed. 
  • Assist with video and conference calls as needed.
  • Format and proofread materials to ensure they accurately represent LCEF brand standards, logistical information, and proper English usage.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Complies with revisions, after mutual consultation, in this position description.



Education and Experience

  • Prefer a minimum of an associate’s degree in communications/business administration or equivalent work experience in related field.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in project scheduling and print production/coordinator.
  • Experience with Hands on Administrative Support


Competencies (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)

  • Proficient in the operation of personal computers and the Microsoft office products.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to work with minimum supervision, have excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, be self-motivated, and be able to prioritize projects.
  • Must be able to work under pressure, be flexible and meet multiple deadlines.
  • Ability to maintain positive relationships with consultants, customers, and suppliers.
  • Willingness to work overtime when necessary to ensure successful operation of Ministry Support.
  • Ability to exercise discretion and judgment in confidential matters.
