Organization Profile

LCEF provides financial resources and related services for ministry, witness and outreach of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod. In so doing it shall raise funds primarily through the issuance of corporate notes and other debit instruments. Its assets shall be used exclusively for the following: To provide financing and services for the acquisition of sites; the construction of facilities; the purchase of buildings and equipment; operating expenses; rostered church worker education; the residential housing needs of professional church workers; promoting strategic planning and assisting in capital campaigns: and other purposes approved by its governing board consistent with the ministry and mission of the Synod under policies approved by the Board of Directors of the Synod. To provide financing for its own operations and for distribution of operating results to its member Districts, congregations, and corporate Synod, as determined by its governing board.


Reporting Relationships

  • Reports to Manager, Ministry Support
  • Works closely with other Ministry Support Coordinators; Director, Laborers For Christ; and Vice President, Ministry Support in all regions
  • Works with representatives involved with all areas of Ministry Support, District Vice Presidents, and CEF Executives


Essential Job Functions

Within each region:

  • Evaluates workload and sets priorities.
  • Manages the lead process for each region with entering all information into Basecamp and SIMS (includes LFC SIMS) from emails, phone conversations, and/or meetings with follow-up on a regular basis. Tracks milestone dates for all Ministry Support (MS) areas.
  • Manages VisionPath, Feasibility Studies, Pastor Coaching, and Consecrated Stewards. Including working with Facilitators on VisionPath Basecamps, calendar development and production for Feasibility Studies on Basecamp all through email and phone calls.
  • Creates all agreements for MS offerings (except LFC), creates invoices, and check requests.
  • Reviews expense reports and alerts Manager, Ministry Support of any issues.
  • Creates reports as requested and tracks project expenses.
  • Schedules, plans, and handles all details related to Zoom calls, conference calls, training meetings/gatherings, etc. as requested.
  • Assists Director, Laborers For Christ where needed.
  • Customizes program materials/report templates and coordinates production of materials related to all MS offerings to congregations and agencies ensuring materials are accurate and deadlines are met.
  • Enters Project information into SIMS for MS and updates master whiteboards as appropriate.
  • Orders “print-on-demand” materials using a local vendor.
  • Creates documents, writes letters, and produces mailings to customers and/or consultants as needed.
  • Formats and proofreads materials to ensure they accurately represent LCEF brand standards, logistical information, and proper English usage.
  • Notifies LCEF Media Communications of new programs/campaigns to add to or remove from the LCEF website, as well as changes in consultant’s bios and new project sign-up lists. Submit story ideas with pictures as needed. Review website content regularly to ensure content is accurate and conveying the correct message.
  • Continually learns about offerings of MS in order to provide a quality service to all customers.
  • Works proactively to identify and pursue opportunities to nurture the relationship with MS representatives.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

  • Prefer a minimum of an associate’s degree in communications/business administration or equivalent work experience in related field.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in project scheduling and print production/coordinator.
  • Experience with hands on Administrative Support.

  • Proficient in the operation of personal computers and the Microsoft office products.
  • Must be able to work with minimum supervision; have excellent organizational, oral, and written communication skills; strong attention to detail; be self-motivated; and be able to prioritize projects.
  • Excellent skill set with PowerPoint, working on internal and external presentations that involve financial data, strategy, and products.
  • Ability to multi-task, be proactive, enthusiastic, and flexible on the job with willingness to work overtime when necessary to ensure successful operation of Ministry Support.
  • Is energized by change and welcomes new opportunities; quickly learns and adapts to change.
  • Ability to set clear goals and objectives with seeking continuous learning to improve personal and team performance.
  • Ability to maintain positive relationships with MS personnel internally and externally.
