Organization Profile

LCMS Communications is responsible for informing, reporting, and interpreting, in consultation with applicable officers and boards, the Synod's purpose, program, and positions to its members and for promoting an increased understanding on the part of the church's publics of the mission of the church and its positions and programs.

 

Reporting Relationships

  • Reports to the Director of Production.

 

Essential Job Functions

  • Responsible for coordination/production of projects including all pieces for web, social media, print publications, video and traditional media. This includes updates to existing and production of new resources.
  • Coordinate obtaining permissions, proper guidelines of usage and implementation of statements within LCMS-produced publications.
  • Handle complex, multiple-piece projects with little supervision.
  • Follow assignment deadlines in Basecamp, adjusting as necessary.
  • Monitor LCMS ministry web pages to make sure updated resources are offered and all links are timely.
  • Responsible for entering specific projects into Basecamp as assigned by supervisor.
  • Assist in planning and registration for exhibit space for all national, district and some regional conferences.
  • Assist with all Communications display pieces and the shipping and maintenance needed.
  • Attend intake meetings as proxy when needed.
Requirements

Education and Experience

  • A two-year associate's degree (or its real-life work equivalent) in a communications or business administration/management field is desirable.

  • A solid understanding of LCMS doctrine and practice and active membership in an LCMS congregation is preferred
