Organization Profile

Information Technology (IT) manages LCMS information technology services, resources and strategy for LCMS Corporate Synod. Services include: network administration, data management and application hosting, network security management, software development and maintenance, e-mail, internet access, web application hosting, personal productivity and collaboration, business process analysis and management, technical training, and IT project and policy management.

Reporting Relationships

  • Reports to the Director, IT Applications.
  • Participates on project teams as assigned; reports to project manager.

Essential Job Functions

  • Development and maintenance of mission critical and ancillary applications, websites, and databases within departmental guidelines and standards as assigned.
  • Troubleshoot technical problems related to mission critical and ancillary applications, websites, and databases as assigned.
  • Promote interaction with client organizations to define and deliver IT application solutions including, but not liminted to: business analysis, process analysis, and technical project management within defined service levels/metrics and standards as assigned.
  • Coordination, leadership and mentoring of IT technical resources for projects as assigned.
  • Prepare and maintain the technical portion of project plans, schedules, and estimates on assigned projects.
  • Contribute to the definition of IT project, policy, and vendor management, training and user group standards.
  • Work to continually improve the services delivered by the entire LCMS Information Technology department.

  • Manage workload with minimal guidance from supervisor.

  • Demonstrate a strong desire to learn new things.

 

Requirements

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in business, information technologies, computer science or equivalent experience.
  • Four years IT experience preferably including some combination of experiences with business analysis, business intelligence, project management, and vendor interaction.
  • Experience with the following is desired:
    • JSON, ASP.net, CSS, jQuery
    • MEAN Stack (MongoDB, Express, AngularJS, Node.js)
    • WordPress, PHP, Apache, Nginx
    • SQL Server
    • Subversion / Git
    • Visual Studio

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently.
  • Outstanding communication skills including the abilty to communicate complex technical information both verbally and in writing.
  • Specialized equipment necessary - laptop and cellular phone.
