Reporting Relationships

  • Accounting Analyst reports to the Manager, Accounting and Financial Reporting.


Essential Job Functions

  • Prepares financial reports for CPS, Concordia Plan trusts and Concordia Resources.
  • Responsible for functionality of the financial software.
    • Assists in the maintenance of financial modules including setup and closings.
    • Assists in staff testing on financial modules for upgrades and conversions.
    • Builds and assists with the building of new reports in Excel and the financial software on an as needed basis.
  • Assists in the preparation of audit reports and audit schedules as well as the Annual Financial Report.
  • Assists in the training of, and skills transfer to, other CPS financial staff with regard to accounting software, financial reporting tools, and office productivity software.
  • Seeks out continuing education and technical training in order to add skillsets that are useful for performing essential job functions or lead to improved productivity.
  • Assists in the accounting functions of CPS including:
    • Compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
    • Review of general ledger balances.
    • Accounting for fixed assets including periodic inventories and resolution of discrepancies.
    • Reconciliation processes.
    • Development and adherence to internal controls.
    • Records financial transactions and prepares all needed documentation for support of those transactions.
    • Assists in the preparation and maintenance of accounting and finance procedures and practices.
    • Responds to inquiries regarding financial results and special reporting requests.
  • Assists in the initiation of electronic payments to vendors.
  • Shares responsibility for review and posting of accounts payable transactions and remittance of all positive pay files.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in accounting or related field, required.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ accounting experience with a high technology comfort level.
  • Experience creating financial reports.
