Reporting Relationships

  • Creative Team Intern reports to Content Strategist. 


Essential Job Functions

  • Participates in creative projects to produce materials that support the Marketing and Communications mission (optimal member experience, employer growth and retention).
    • Writes communication pieces to share with LCMS employers, Concordia Plan members, and internal staff, including e-learning materials.
    • Design marketing pieces to share with LCMS employers, Concordia Plan members, and internal staff.
    • Collaborates with cross-functional teams to assist with creation, quality control and internal approvals of plan change documents.
    • Works within assigned department on the collaboration of mail materials, digital media and video editing.
    • Creates content that supports the marketing channels.
  • Assists with the distribution of communication materials with external fulfillment centers.
  • Gathers market research for existing and proposed programs to offer innovative ideas and concepts.

Education and Experience

  • Classified as college Sophomore, Junior or Senior.
  • Minimum GPA: 3.0.
  • Majors: Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Mass Communications, Journalism

Competencies (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)

  • Strong knowledge of AP Style and grammar.
  • Strong proofreading skills.
  • Systems fluency: working knowledge of MS Office suite, Adobe products, and social media platforms required.
  • Communications: ability to articulate information simply and concisely that reflects CPS values (integrity, compassion, excellence, stewardship, accountability) in all internal and external communications.
