Organization Profile

The primary mission of the Lutheran Church Extension Fund (LCEF) is to provide financial resources and related services for ministry, witness and outreach of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod. In so doing it shall raise funds primarily through the issuance of corporate notes and other debit instruments. Its assets shall be used exclusively for the following:  provide financing and services for the acquisition of sites; the construction of facilities; the purchase of buildings and equipment; operating expenses; rostered church worker education; the residential housing needs of rostered church workers; and other purposes approved by its governing board consistent with the ministry and mission of the Synod under policies approved by the Board of Directors of the Synod.

Reporting Relationships

The Administrative Assistant reports to the West Regional Vice President.

Essential Job Functions

  • Provide comprehensive administrative support to the Regional Vice President, District Vice Presidents, Regional Marketing Manager, Regional Administrative Coordinator.
  • Organize and maintain files and databases in a confidential manner.
  • Generating reports and presentations, setting up for meetings, and reordering supplies.
  • Providing real-time scheduling support by booking appointments and preventing conflicts.
  • Making travel arrangements, such as booking flights, cars, and making hotel and restaurant reservations.
  • Screening phone calls and routing callers to the appropriate departments.
  • Using computers to generate reports, transcribe minutes from meetings, create presentations, and conduct research.
  • Maintain polite and professional communication via phone, e-mail, and mail.
  • Anticipate the needs of others in order to ensure their seamless and positive experience.
Requirements

Education and Experience

  • Associate degree preferred
  • In lieu of degree, three or more years relevant work experience

Competencies (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)

  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite, including Access, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Comfortable with routinely shifting demands
  • High degree of attention to detail
  • Data entry experience
  • Working knowledge of general office equipment
  • Preferred candidate will be an active member of an LCMS congregation
