HR Business Partner II

Grande is looking for candidates to fill the position of HR Business Partner II. This position reports to the Senior HR Manager and will support two facilities in the Fond du Lac and Lomira areas.

The HR Business Partner II will be responsible for:

  • Working closely with plant leadership to improve morale, increase productivity and retention, and resolve Associate concerns
  • Providing face to face contact for all HR guidance, direction and training at the two facilities
  • Ensuring compliance with performance management expectations
  • Recruitment efforts for both salaried and hourly positions

We envision a successful candidate having an education and background in Human Resources Management, significant knowledge of HR principles to include legal compliance, strong recruitment skills and manufacturing experience.

1st Major Area of Responsibility – HR Business Partner at the Rolling Meadows and the Distribution Center facilities (Key Duties)

  • Assist the lead HRBP in all duties as a HR Business Partner and provide administrative support as requested.
  • Exemplify the desired culture and philosophies of the organization and be seen as a key resource and advocate for Associates
  • Works closely with management and Associates to improve work relationships, build morale, increase productivity and retention
  • With the facility management teams, create and evaluate key HR metrics, research and resolve issues and maintain continuous improvement focused on the delivery of information and the quality and effectiveness of human resources activities
  • Help to resolve Associate relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough and objective investigations
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of Associates, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partner with outside legal counsel as needed/required
  • Provide day-to-day performance management guidance to line/function management (coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions)
  • Provides the face to face contact for all HR guidance, direction, and training for all Associates at the assigned facility.
  • Administer performance review and salary administration programs at responsible facility(s) to ensure effectiveness, compliance and equity within organization as requested
  • Assist the COE group in the administration of company benefit programs, completing all paperwork and reports as required including assisting Associates with benefit questions and presenting the annual benefits changes to the facility.
  • Partners with the facility safety committee to investigate, audit, and ensure proper safety procedures and policies are followed.
  • Assist with Workers Comp. conversations and investigations and ensure proper procedures and policies are understood and followed.
  • Participate in evaluation and monitoring of success of training programs. Follow-up to ensure training objectives are met.
  • Assist with the hiring process for Associates at assigned facility(s)/function(s) with strong collaboration with hiring managers and with the utilization and support of assigned HRBP support.
  • Assist with the development of local policies and procedures that are in line with high level guidance and policies.
  • Assist with the ASE Right Start/On-Boarding programs at responsible facility(s)/functions(s)
  • Conduct facility exit interviews
  • Complete all other HRBP tasks as necessary

2nd Major Area of Responsibility – Administrative Support (Key Duties)

  • Assist HR Business Partners with all administrative support including (but not limited to): staffing, attendance, recruiting, change notices, due process, FMLA paperwork, workers compensation, performance management, benefits administration, and resolving Associates concerns.
  • Provide analysis, metrics, and reporting as requested
  • Be a resource for HRBP’s at the assigned facilities/function(s)

3rd Area of Responsibility – All other duties and responsibilities as requested or required (Key Duties)

  • A mobile phone is required for this position.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested or required


  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management or related field required.


  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a HR or Associate Relations position
  • Manufacturing experience desired
  • Good working knowledge of general HR principles and a focus on metrics is required
  • Recruiting experience is required

Job Skills Requirements

  • Good knowledge of HR practices and strategies, employment law, recruitment programs and selection processes, manufacturing operations and relational database utilization
  • Good communication (written and verbal) through all levels in the organization
  • Ability to operate in a fast paced environment with multiple deadlines and being able to meet deadlines while working through interruptions
  • Good analytical and decision making skills
  • Moderate to advanced level of operations in MS Office Suite and HRIS
