Grande is looking for candidates to fill the position of Finance and Accounting Manager—Supply Chain. This position reports to the Director of Finance--Trademark Products and will work out of our new, state of the art Home Office & Research center located in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin.  This role will provide exposure to multiple areas of the organization and directly support our Milk Marketing and Supply Chain departments.

We envision a successful candidate having an education within Accounting and/or Finance and a background within manufacturing.  In addition, the candidate must possess a past with creation and maintenance of matrix and reporting, analysis, and overall leadership for both department and financial activities.  

1st Major Area of Responsibility – Talent Management

(Key Duties)

  • Advocates for effective execution of the performance management process by collaborating with direct report/s to set clear objectives, goals and expectations.   Conducts regular coaching and constructive feedback discussions to review performance and goal progress, assist with challenges, and identify strengths and development areas, all to support Associate professional and career development, while increasing engagement and motivation.
  • Supports workforce planning and talent acquisition strategies by effectively staffing and hiring diverse talent for the organization. 
  • Addresses Associate relations and performance issues in a timely manner and/or makes appropriate decisions relative to performance challenges. 

2nd Major Area of Responsibility – Provide Financial Leadership to Milk Marketing and Supply Chain Departments

(Key Duties)

  • Develop understanding of and prepare financial analysis & reporting for issues involving Federal Orders, including pooling arrangements; producer and milk purchases; milk purchases and utilization on a mass balance basis, including yields and milk component shrink; and milk contracting and cream sales negotiations.
  • Develops and maintains management reporting of surplus milk activities, including volumes and financial impact of surplus sales.
  • Identifies and leads effort to improve Grande milk reporting capabilities.
  • Compiles projection data from field associates regarding current & future farm growth to provide ongoing analysis of long- and near-term milk supply
  • Interface with Plant and Operations F&A Associates to understand plant trends and issues impacting milk utilization.
  • Manage and maintain all payroll systems (producer, vendor & hauler) and ensure all necessary and appropriate control mechanisms are reviewed and manages to ensure proper payments are being made for goods and/or services being received.
  • Develop and report key metrics for Milk Marketing, Supply Chain, and Distribution Center.
  • Develop functional inputs to various forecasting processes
  • Key support of strategic plan development and bi-annual reviews.

3rd Major Area of Responsibility – Manage Financial Activities

(Key Duties)

  • Ensure accurate and timely payments for milk purchases
  • Manage the development and maintenance of Systems and Cost Accounting standards for all milk purchases
  • Report milk receipts and usage according to Federal Order guidelines (de-pool when warranted)
  • Prepare and analyze monthly department spending, producer premium reports, and variance analysis
  • Manage use of the Milk Sales and cream  databases for invoicing and reporting
  • Provide department liaison and support to outside milk auditor during Federal Milk Market audits and any other non-routine audits that are the result of milk acquisition
  • Prepare regular and requested reports for farm numbers, milk quantities, milk quality etc.
  • Ensure complete and accurate accounting records for all milk related activities, including cost accounting systems.

4th Major Area of Responsibility Complete Milk Pricing Analysis and Forward Contracting Records reporting and all other duties and responsibilities as requested or required

(Key Duties)

  • Tracks monthly producer premium costs by category.
  • Prepare monthly reports on changes in competitor’s premium programs and costs compared to Grande.
  • Report Fixed Forward Contracting information to USDA to insure compliance.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly reports on Fixed Pricing activity.
  • Manage, participate in risk management system development, be completely knowledgeable of Price Risk Management database, and make maintain inputs as appropriate.
  • Coordinate with Treasury to ensure proper margin call availability
  • A mobile phone is required for this position.
  • Perform all other duties and responsibilities as requested or required.
Requirements

Education

  •  Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required. MBA preferred.

Experience

  • Minimum of seven (7) years of Accounting or Finance experience in a manufacturing environment. 

Job Skills Requirements

  • Ability to work with ambiguity and manage self with high level of independence. 
  • Advanced PC skills including Windows and the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Advanced understanding of financial analysis and accounting policies, procedures, programs and processes.
  • Advanced skills in the development of financial ratios and comparative analysis.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to interact with all levels of management.
  • Strong leadership skills.
