Description JOB OVERVIEW
Under limited supervision, create and validate a global master production schedule for a given category(s) that seeks to optimize customer service and inventory levels globally. This is accomplished through continuous understanding of global demand, resource analysis and allocation, the output of which is the global master production schedule (MPS). Ongoing maintenance of schedules is required to enable excellent communications throughout the company and with our customers and subsidiaries regarding product availability. Candidates selected to this role will be expected to demonstrate leadership, project management, and coordination skills, internally across the organization and cross-functionally with Brand, Demand Planning, Operations and Sales, as well as externally with suppliers. This role is the key supply chain focal point, and is responsible for identifying, communicating and resolving supply constraints.

• Review, identify, and resolve any barriers to near-term and long-range balance of supply with demand.
• Lead or participate in Sales, Operations, Engineering and planning meetings to assist new product introductions and to resolve material or process issues on existing products.
• Project-oriented duties aimed at continuous process improvement with the intent of improving the flow of finished goods through production to distribution from all global manufacturing sites while meeting production ramps and seasonality and guarding against inventory obsolescence.
• Principal leader and contributor to Global Sales and Operations Planning process (S & OP) – gains approval on identified solutions to supply vs. demand gaps
• Analyze, evaluate, and act on new finished goods replenishment requirements for domestic and international manufacturing operations and demand requirements.
• Using SAP output based on global forecasts, calculate, process and release the Master Production Schedule monthly to Finance as well as site specific production forecasts derived from the MPS.
• Recommend capacity shifts based on SAP-driven forward looking production requirements and capacity planning.
• Escalates supply gaps to supporting organizations (i.e. Strategic Sourcing) on a timely and effective manner.
• Using SAP output, refresh the MPS weekly, updating balance of month and yearly requirements to reflect actual demand against forecast. Release site-specific production forecast refresh output weekly.
• Balance the make vs. buy ratio in accord with the overall corporate strategy, while maintaining customer service levels and inventory targets.
• Model global production splits for all New Product Introductions (NPI) and incorporate into the MPS in alignment with regional launch timing and target requirements.
• Incorporate End of Life (EOL) Planning for all models in assigned category(s) into the MPS volumes to support inventory draw down of any product-specific raw materials at manufacturing sites and finished goods inventory draw down in all subsidiaries in accord with final forecasts and final sell dates in each region.
• Monitor and report out Key Performance Indicators, plan vs. actual, make vs. buy, and forecast change report.
• Responsible for modeling global FG SS Strategies and understanding down line impact for component planning and overall financial investment needed
• Provides guidance on strategic initiatives to component buyers impacting buying behaviors.
• Responsible for all system settings as it relates to modeling overall business strategies for a particular category.
• Works directly with Business Partner Managers and IT to resolve all system issues as they relate to APD.SNP.
• Mentor/develop/motivate Supply Planner staff.
• Initiates and drives opportunities for system improvements and enhancements to more effectively and efficiently utilize APD/SNP
• Works with Supply Chain Analyst to create reporting mechanisms to actively manage SKU system settings.

• Experienced in the use of standard Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint for management reporting and presentation.
• High degree of initiative and ownership, attention to detail, and the discipline to follow through on assigned tasks.
• Complete and thorough knowledge of industry practices, standards, and techniques. Will be required to regularly apply the full array of all relevant principles and concepts in execution of duties.
• Ability to develop solutions to a variety of problems of large to very large scope and complexity, often creating or revising company or departmental policies in the process.
• Ability to work well with, and in many cases lead, others in a cross-functional team environment.
• Demonstrated ability to synthesize concepts, practices, and tools to resolve problems or improve processes.
• Demonstrated job history of successfully managing all aspects of material and capacity planning in a manufacturing environment and a complete grasp of inventory management practices.
• Must be capable of managing several priorities effectively and be able to identify and recommend best course of action from several alternatives.
• Strong project management skills with some formal project management training preferred.
• Preferred formal training in quantitative problem solving methods (i.e. linear programming)
• Strong knowledge of SAP or other similar enterprise wide MRP and APS systems, and corresponding reporting tools such as Business Warehouse (BW).
• Advance levels of expertise in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Suite applications.

• Bachelor’s or advanced degree, preferably in field relevant to job description (e.g., Operations, Production Planning, Industrial Engineering).
• Minimum 5 years experience in relevant field.
• APICS (or other as appropriate) certified, or certification in progress and actively pursuing.
• Well-established track record of increasing levels of responsibility in planning and purchasing within a manufacturing environment.
• Experience leading a cross functional team.
