Description

Role Summary:

The Analyst is responsible for gathering and analyzing data to establish and maintain Portfolio related financials, performance metrics, and reports in order to provide analytics as requested and perform root cause of variances and identify areas for process improvement.

    • Manage metrics dashboards used for tracking and reporting out on project metrics

    • Validate interdependent and calculated reporting data

    • Maintain reporting history and compile periodic views and insights as needed

    • Strong analysis skills, sound knowledge of fiscal planning, data gathering and documentation abilities, and high attention to detail

Essential Duties & Responsibilities include:

  • Data Management

    • complete data cleanup of the Growth Portfolio

    • analyze project related data for root cause of variance to policy

    • ensure any performance data reported is accurate and actionable

    • Validate interdependent and calculated reporting data

    • Maintain reporting history and compile periodic views and insights as needed

  • Metrics Reporting

    • Manage metrics dashboards used for tracking and reporting out on project metrics

    • Reporting Metrics of AFE

    • Analysis of AFE Budget to Actual

    • Supplemental AFE Tracking

    • Data Validation from P6 Bridge to OPPM

    • PM Scorecard Metrics Reporting & Analysis

    • Program Manager Scorecard Metrics

  • Accounting Coordination

    • Track budget to actual trending from budget concept approval to AFE approval to Cost at Completion.

    • Resolve Accounting reclassifications. Work with Portfolio Managers and Program Owners to Identify and corrected problematic trends in estimating and scheduling practices

    • Complete project categorization review and follow up on issues

    • Coordination with the Accounting and Finance teams on resolution of issues related to project financials

  • Forecast & Accruals Administration

    • Coordinate Accruals with PCAs and other Project Accountants / cost controls

    • Provide analysis of trending and forecasting

    • Report at the project, program, and portfolio level and provide data to Portfolio Managers for follow up and corrective actions.

  • And other duties as assigned

Tools / Skills Required:

  • Financial Accounting Skills (not looking for a CPA – need more Project Accounting background)

  • Excel PowerPivot experience

  • Dashboard Development experience

  • Advanced Cognos Skills, would like Insight reporting experience as well – not mandatory.

  • iDashboard experience a Plus!

  • A solid understanding of portfolio, program, and project management methodologies preferrably in the Engineering, Construction Management field

  • Knowledge of Primavera Project Management (OPPM) or other enterprise Portfolio and Project cost and schedule management applications.

Contract Term

  • 6-9 month contract

  • Execution focus and structure, attention to detail and ability to work to tight deadlines with timely identification/resolution/escalation of issues.

  • Strong relationship management skills, including partnering and consulting with internal stakeholders.

  • Ability to handle uncertainty while continuing to drive assigned work with a positive, highly motivated, can-do attitude.
